Stoevelaar Machinery impresses with the robust Morbark 6400 XT
During the Recycling trade fair, Stoevelaar Machinery made a strong impression with its robust Morbark 6400 XT shredder. A true powerhouse, its striking orange colour attracted plenty of attention from curious visitors. Notably, this machine, powered by a 1,200 hp Cat C32 Tier 4F engine, is built within a transport width of three metres. “This means it can be transported without an escort vehicle,” says sales manager Harm Liebregt.
The Morbark Wood Hog line consists of industrial-grade shredders designed for processing demolition and construction waste, green waste, mixed wood waste, and other materials. With power ranging from 275 to 1,200 hp, the Wood Hog line offers the right solution for every project. Liebregt explains: “The machines are equipped with the Morbark Integrated Control System (MICS), which automatically adjusts the feed rate and monitors the pressure and position of the feed roller, as well as engine data signals. This ensures optimal production capacity and maximum efficiency.”
A proven torque limiter provides protection against foreign objects, resulting in an efficient production process. The machines are available with a quick-change system that allows easy conversion from shredder to chipper, offering even greater versatility. In addition, the PT Tech hydraulic clutch ensures a soft start. The discharge conveyor of the 6400 XT, fitted with a head pulley magnet and slide chute, measures approximately ten metres in length, about one metre in width, and has a discharge height of around six metres. “And for transport, it can be folded hydraulically,” adds Liebregt.
Morbark is a highly respected name in the shredding industry, but Liebregt is particularly enthusiastic about the 6400 XT. “It really is a giant, with a capacity of 120 to 150 tonnes per hour. Moreover, this 44-tonne machine can also be equipped with a dolly system. This gives it the mobility of a wheeled machine—offering greater manoeuvrability—while still retaining the benefits of a tracked unit. Another important advantage is that coupling and uncoupling the machine takes less than fifteen minutes, fully automatically. This means the operator can work completely independently.”
Another distinctive feature is the upward-rotating rotor, which significantly reduces dust generation. “This also makes the machine far less sensitive to breakdowns,” Liebregt explains. “You can keep working continuously without long periods of downtime caused by dust issues. The company Fuhler is the first to operate the 6400 XT, and the operator is extremely satisfied!”
